New video – link in profile or YouTube.com/kayakhipster . For this one I wanted to try to capture and share one of the aspects of kayak fishing that I enjoy so much. Even if there isn't a single bite, being able to spend most of the day in a beautiful location, focused on one thing in silence is fantastic. Hopefully that comes across in this video. I’ve been on a big tree kick lately, as the autumn colors are out in full force and they do show here later than back up north.I’m also finding that when I slow down a bit, there’s so much beauty hidden in plain sight. I usually just go about my day too quickly to notice. There’s an abundance of Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons here, and it’s so fascinating to see them up close — they’re so big! They remind me of lanky, awkward teenagers as they spread their wings and take flight. Yesterday I managed to catch a Great Egret flying above me. Although if I mislabeled this one please let me know. Incredibly happy with the results from the first test roll. Every shot came out, including the dawn ones at super slow speeds and the ones with different filters. So that means the camera works perfectly, and the metering app I’m using is indeed giving me good readouts for all types of scenes. Since getting this roll back I’ve already shot two more, so now I’m so much more excited to get these other ones developed. I’ve been noticing so many new things and features all around when we’re out and about (on and off the water) just because of the mindset of wanting to bring the camera with me. I know the camera is irrelevant, it’s just a tool for a project.
